MacMilitia dates back to 1997-ish. Started by John and David Norton (brothers) and Andy and Joey Cooper (brothers) as the print magazine Mac Users Militia Newsletter, it quickly progressed to The Mac Users Miliitia Journal, MacMilitia.com, and finally MacMilitia.
Our last redesign resulted in the extended title, MacMilitia.com | Resurrected, and also resulted in very little content being written thereafter. We are kind of hoping that with a title of MacMilitia | so long and thanks for all the fish, this website will take off and be loved and cared for and fed bacon and eggs every day just like a good child should.
Will this page ever be updated? Hmmmmmmmmm.... who knows. If somebody writes and points out that it is really out-dated, then we may. Otherwise, we'll probably forget.
The technical nitty-gritty
MacMilitia.com is your basic HTML- and CSS-based website, with a smattering of JavaScript on the side for a few niceties. On the backend, we use PHP and mySQL to make everything dynamic, integrated, and consistent. Our content system is homemade, not because we're against open-source software, but because we always like building the durned thing ourselves just to show we can do it.
